BBC News Online - World War I - It is 80 years since the armistice silenced the guns of World War I. The war lasted from 1914-18, claimed 10 million lives and forever changed the political map of Europe. Using personal accounts and historical analysis BBC News Online looks back at what became known as 'the war to end all wars'.
War Poster Collection - A collection of 78 posters from World War I and II. Searchable, and browsable by topic (American, British, Dutch and German, national security, Red Cross, war bonds, women in war, World War I, World War II). From the University of Washington Libraries, Digital Collections.
Publications of the War - This site presents examples of World War I publications such as 'newspapers, propaganda material...comical gifts' and postcards. Most notable is a complete run of The Hydra, a news letter the poet Wilfred Owen contributed to during his stay at Craiglockhart War Hospital. From Oxford University.
World War I Document Archive - Primary documents of WWI, most in English, have been assembled by volunteers of the World War I Military History List(WWI-L). Includes conventions, treaties, official papers, documents by y ear, personal reminiscences, and a biographical dictionary.
An Unfortunate Region - 'A website about the Great War battlefields and individuals,' with photographs of battle sites, cemeteries and graves, and debris (personal items, weapons, munitions). Information about individuals may include biographies, photographs, excerpts from letters and journals, and details of service (country, regiment, place of death, etc.). There is also news about exhibitions, threatened sites, accidents involving explosions of old munitions, recent identification of human remains, and other current events involving World War I battlefields.
Gallipoli 1915: The D rama of the Dardanelles - The story of the failed strategy to beat back the Turks on the Gallipoli peninsula in World War I. Includes details of the Allied troops' weapons, living conditions, and care of the sick and wounded in trench warfare; British Royal Navy air and sea campaigns in the Dardanelles; modern video views of Turkey, including Sari Bair and Suvla Bay; and ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps).

HyperHistory Online - Displays a lifeline for over 980 persons in science, culture, religion and politics. In addition there are special expanded sections for artists, scientists, wr iters, composers, famous women, and politicians accessible from the 'Options' panel.
