Biographies of Scientists

The new Ohio Academic Content Standards state “Examine how science and technology have advanced through the contributions of many different people, cultures and times in history.”  To comply with this mandate, we chose 35 scientists (9 women) of various nationalities and eras in history   who made outstanding discoveries or achievements in their scientific area of study.  This included geneticists, astronauts, archaeologists, rocket engineers, astronomers, naturalists, inventors, physicists, etc.

The Dewey Decimal Numbers used for this project are 92 and 920.

Subject Headings that are useful: INVENTORS, SCIENTISTS-BIOGRAPHIES, individual names of the scientists( last name first)  and specific fields(example: ASTRONAUTS-BIOGRAPHIES)
