Students
will define and identify igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic
rocks and erosion. The teacher will introduce the assignment,
and media specialist (MS) introduces resources and how to use
them. MS and teacher direct and evaluate students work as they
progress through the research process; teacher supervises
completion of final projects; and MS assists students as they
take an online quiz at conclusion of
research.
Materials used will be reference books such
as encyclopedias, non-fiction books on rocks and minerals
(Dewey numbers 548,549, 552, 560), video recordings, internet
resources, and realia (sample rocks).
