Action Plan:  Fairy Tale Variations

For Third Grade

Curriculum Area:  Language Arts

Specific Topic:  Lon Po Po: A Red-Riding Hood Story from China

 

Share different variations or versions of several fairy tales.  Students after listening will compare and contrast the versions with the original version that they know.  Students will also write their own variant of a fairy tale to share with their class. 

 

One version of Little Red-Riding Hood that we shared was Lon Po Po: A Red-Riding Hood Story from China by Ed Young.  We also discussed Ed Young’s art work and art work from China.
