CONTENT INFORMATION

Brief Summary of the Topic/Pathfinder: Students will create a brief catalog type product using Microsoft Publisher discussing the life of an author they choose from the list created. Students will have 5-8 school periods to complete the final product. They may work on their own computer if the technology is available at their home or at the area public library. The main focus is to learn about an author that may interest the individual and to see what other readers may think of this author’s work.

Directions: Use the internet and/or print materials in the library to find the following information.

                You are creating a booklet using Microsoft Publisher consisting of 8 total pages.

 1. Page 1 or cover.  Pick an author from the list, whose birthday is the same month as yours.

 2. Page 2 & 3.  Write a one-page biography on the author you chose. True Type Font 12-Double spaced

                 3. Page 4.  Choose a book written by that author.

                 4.Page 5. Find a summary/description of the book include all product details(copy cover if possible).

                 5.Page 6.  Find a reader review of this book and print it.

                 6.Page 7.  Find a professional or editorial review of the book include who gave this review and print it.

                 7.Back cover-Page 8. Include all of your info( name, birth date, teacher’s name/period, and current date).

You may be as creative with decorating as you wish.

 

At the end of each school day you are working on this project save your work in your folder in the H:/ drive. If you wish to also save it on a floppy and work on it at home that is permitted but you are reminded that you MUST use Microsoft Publisher 98 or earlier.
