STORY MOODS
Stories have many events with many different moods.
Something can trigger happiness, sadness, fear, contentment or hope. . Think of
events that are going to happen in your story and the mood you want your
audience to feel. Usually as events occur, moods change; however, a story may
have an overall mood, such as in a mystery story.
Take each event planned and create a mood for the event.

PROBLEM GRAPHIC ORGANIZER
The problem of a story is also called the plot. Many times characters in a book or story face
conflicts or problems. How the character
does or doesn’t solve the problem becomes the story, or the events in the
story. Problems can be a character
against another character (a bully who always picks on others), a character
against his/her environment (a girl who wants to play football on the high
school team), or a character against him/herself (a girl who wants to grow up
to be a doctor but can’t stand the sight of blood or a boy who wants to be in
the Olympics but is very clumsy).

What will happen if character
Takes the option?
|
|
Options character can take:
|
|
Think of the problem that
you want your character to have. Then
think of three options or choices that the character has to solve the problem
and the results of each choice. Your
thoughts will help you to write the events of the story and to find a
Resolution.
