Cleveland State University
Project: Outreach to
High School Librarians
Audience: High School Librarian groups
Project Overview:
The Education Librarian at CSU has gone to meetings of high school librarians
to give a presentation about the ways that high school and college libraries
are the same and how they are different. ACRL and AASL Information Literacy
standards are compared. Similar challenges exist for both groups of librarians--plagiarism,
full-text journals, etc.
At the same time, librarians are invited to bring classes to CSU to work on a research assignment. This serves an admissions function as the high school students have an opportunity to see the campus.
High School librarians
are also encouraged to use "Hands-On Library Instruction", CSU's
online tutorial.
