The library media specialist will instruct the students in note taking procedures, documenting sources, and outlining. Guiding students through INFOhio databases, and showing them quality resources will teach evaluating reliable resources. The classroom teacher will be instructing students on the background of the Holocaust through reading, webbing, writing, and research.
ESL students will be guided in using the Spanish version on Encyclopedia Britannica and the Spanish tutor will help them with their presentation in English.
Students will be given options to read various literature on the Holocaust and WWII. Students will also be given the opportunity to find some quality web sites on the Holocaust to share with others.
Students will be given the home passwords for INFOhio resources to further explore their research topic.
Interdisciplinary Connections
The research standard in language arts will be integrated with the social studies standard. Library #5 guideline will be integrated throughout the project.

Students will locate, process, evaluate and utilize information. The students will be instructed in accessing using and evaluating resources efficiently and ethically. Students will also be instructed in synthesizing the information into a written and oral presentation.
Through the research process modifications will be made according to student success during the research and writing process. The media specialist and classroom teacher will discuss student progress at the end of each class period and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
Other materials used will be a path finder handout, note- taking sheet, and graphic organizers to organize written work and presentation.
